The drive motor is equivalent to the engine of a fuel-driven car.
It uses the power of the current to turn the drive shaft.
For higher efficiency, EV traction motor requires electrical steel featuring less loss of electricity.
Hairpin technology is used for EV traction motor for better performance.
EV motor hairpin technology is based on solid, flat copper bars which are inserted into the stator stack.
These copper bars, also known as hairpins, consist of enameled copper wire bent into a U-shape, similar to the geometry of hairpins.
The hairpin stator process chain is based on an indirect winding approach.
Due to the solid cross section, hairpins can be shaped into their final geometry ahead of the actual assembly process.
In contrast to conventional stator production, in which winding-based assembly processes predominate, a forming process is applied.
Weltop Technos is cooperating with Samac & SMT of Italy to supply hairpin technology equipment to Korean EV customers and Weltop will help many Korea parts manufacturer in Korea switch to electric vehicles production.
